Presnel Kimpembe, a defender for Paris Saint-Germain, is apparently interested in joining Chelsea and may be persuaded by the chance to work with Thomas Tuchel once again.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Given that Kimpembe is approaching the last two years of his contract and Tuchel is reportedly lobbying for the 26-year-old, PSG is open to bids in the neighborhood of €60 million for the player.
They collaborated for 2.5 years, and when the German manager was fired in 2020, Kimpembe was all praise for him.
“Thank you and your team for your high standards, your confidence, and your huge effort which has enabled us to win many trophies together,” Kimpembe said in a post on Instagram at the time.
He concluded by saying, “I wish you the best for your future experiences,” making allusion to one of Tuchel’s catchphrases, “top top top.”
Tuchel and Kimpembe reunited once more?
Chelsea is in need of defensive reinforcements after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers, but so far, they have had difficulty acquiring their desired targets.
Tuchel is very interested in Jules Kounde, but Sevilla and Barcelona are reportedly holding out for a transfer cost of at least €60 million.
Nathan Ake’s return to Chelsea has also been requested, but Manchester City won’t sell the 27-year-old midfielder for anything less than £40 million.
Chelsea are looking for at least two defenders, and with Barcelona also interested in Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta, they seem to have turned to Kimpembe.
Under Tuchel, the Frenchman displayed some of his greatest quality when playing with current Chelsea defender Thiago Silva, and Kimpembe is said to be open to moving.

Before making any moves, Kimpembe is said to demand clarity on his future under the new PSG leadership. The defender is eager to sign a lucrative deal and get guarantees on his position at the team.
