Chelsea’s players gave it they’re all in the FA Cup final against Liverpool, but it wasn’t enough, as the Blues were defeated in a penalty shootout.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Chelsea, like in the Carabao Cup final, fell short at the final hurdle, losing on penalties to Liverpool.
Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea’s captain, has stated that the defeat stings a lot.
“It’s a challenge.” Of course, we would have preferred a different result, and we are devastated to lose,” Chelsea captain John Terry said.
“When we got to the penalty shoot-out, we tried our hardest to perform the best we could.” We had anticipated it. Unfortunately, it did not happen again this time.
“This is football.” It’s difficult to accept, but you have to find a way to win the game, and we haven’t won on penalties in the past two games.”
More specifically, Azpilicueta stated that the game was lost by a razor-thin margin.
“We expected a close game,” he continued. Our last two games against Liverpool have ended in draws.
“We knew we’d have opportunities since they’re a side that creates a lot, and momentum is important sometimes, but we didn’t cross the line to win the game.”
“We went across the line versus Villarreal in the Champions League, the Club World Cup, and the Super Cup.” It’s the highest level; it’s a razor-thin line where two millimeters might be the difference between going off the post and out or going off the post and in. It’s like this at times.”
