Joao Felix send sly message to Atletico Madrid upon Chelsea arrival ahead of Fulham
Early on in the January transfer window, Joao Felix has one of the most sought-after players, and Chelsea has prevailed despite fierce opposition.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Joao Felix, a Chelsea player on loan, was observed making a subtle jab at Atletico Madrid while he was being introduced to the amenities at the Cobham training facility. This month, the 23-year-old was extensively linked to moves to Manchester United and Arsenal. However, after the Blues entered the competition late, he decided to move to Stamford Bridge.
Felix, who Chelsea’s scouts have closely monitored this season, will join the Spanish giants on a six-month loan deal for an estimated £9 million. Atletico, though, preferred not to have a buyout clause in the agreement.
Graham Potter is looking to strengthen his front line, thus the Blues announced on January 11 that they had acquired Felix on a six-month loan from the Spanish powerhouses. The Portuguese international appears to have been more delighted with the Cobham facilities than he was with those at Atletico.
Felix was heard making fun of his parent club in a behind-the-scenes video that Chelsea recorded of Felix’s introduction to the Surrey training facility. The Portuguese star pointed to the building’s outside as he was shown the gym at Cobham and stated, “Atletico is like this portion, half.”
The Portuguese star is about to be thrown into the deep end because Chelsea now has 10 injured players. However, it is uncertain whether he will be able to play against Fulham on January 12th. Felix had to officially register as a Chelsea player by Wednesday at 12 p.m. if he was to play at Craven Cottage, as per the Premier League rules manual.
“Subject to the provisions of Rule V.1, the deadline for receipt by the Board of all duly completed documents required by these Rules to effect the registration of a Player shall be 12 noon on the last Working Day prior to the date of the first League Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play, except that the international transfer certificate and evidence of eligibility to take up employment in the United Kingdom (in both cases) shall not be considered to be duly completed documents until they have been received by the Board.”
At precisely 12 o’clock in the afternoon, Chelsea released a club statement announcing his arrival, indicating that all the paperwork had been signed the previous morning. Felix has a decent probability of being available for selection when the team plays Fulham.
