After a disappointing season at Chelsea, reports suggest that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku would welcome a return to Inter Milan.
With only 8 goals in 26 league games, the striker failed to justify his high cost.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, wants him back, and Chelsea may be ready to let him go.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a reporter, the transaction will be difficult to complete due of Lukaku’s high transfer cost.
“After contacts with the player – he firmly wants to return to Inter,” he wrote. “Inter and Chelsea will be in direct discussions for Romelu Lukaku in the coming days. #CFC @MatteoBarzaghi @SkySport
“It won’t be an easy transaction because Chelsea paid €115 million for Lukaku, and Inter can only hope for a loan.”
Former Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson, meanwhile, has stated that he does not see things changing next season and has advised both parties to break ways this summer.
“I myself would like to go back next season and show myself,” he told bettingodds But I believe Lukaku has had an entire season to exhibit that kind of bravery, and he hasn’t.
“I don’t think much will change next season.” I believe we would have seen glimpses of it next season if he was the type of player who could stand up and demonstrate guts.
“I can see him settling somewhere because if he had the bravery to bounce back in pre-season, he should have had the courage to bounce back in his first season as well.” I don’t see him returning next season, so a change of scenery could be beneficial for all parties.”
