Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Thiago Silva, whose career is nearing the end, is already making plans for the future. Even at the age of 38, the Chelsea defender remains a consistent performer for the Blues, having started 32 Premier League games last season and playing every minute this season.
When his playing days are done, the Blues center-back wants to become a manager, and Brazil manager Tite believes he will be a success. “He’ll be a good coach,” he said. And he’s not good for football. Do you know why he’s a bad football player? Because he makes things look so simple when they’re actually quite difficult. He makes the clearest, most lucid, transparent decisions while displaying impressive technical performance.”
Despite making plans for the future, Silva still has an important role to play at Chelsea and wants to be a part of Graham Potter’s long-term plans at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have a plethora of options at center-back, including Kalidou Koulibaly, Wesley Fofana, and Cesar Azplilceuta, but the fact that Silva has been an ever-present so far this season demonstrates how highly regarded he is at Chelsea.
Silva’s contract at West Ham expires at the end of the season, but the defender hopes to stay for at least another two years.
“My goal is to play until I’m 40, but I’m not sure if it will be at this level or in this competition,” Silva told Chelsea’s official website.
“It is dependent on this season, and we will see what happens in the World Cup.” It is also contingent on a contract extension, but my goal is to play until I am 40.”
