According to The Sun, Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy turned down a six-year contract offer because he felt Chelsea did not pay him with enough “respect.”

“Edouard is back at Chelsea and he is eager to play,” a Chelsea insider told The Sun.
However, it seems as though the contract situation is simply going nowhere.
“Edouard has won several significant titles for Chelsea, but there is a sense that the club is not treating him with enough respect over a new agreement,” a club official said.
Mendy paid £22 million to transfer from French club Rennes to the Blues in 2020, and he has since made 104 appearances for the team.
According to reports, Monaco, Nice, and AC Milan are three clubs keeping an eye on his status and would be interested in signing the goalkeeper if the chance presented itself.
Two and a half years are still left on Mendy’s Chelsea deal. He assisted Chelsea in winning the Champions League in 2020, and FIFA named him the best goalkeeper of 2021.
