‘I’m very sorry – Forgotten Chelsea ace looks for next transfer as agent fix admission
Tiemoue Bakayoko hasn’t played for Chelsea since playing the full 90 minutes in the Blues’ FA Cup victory against Manchester United in 2018, but he might yet make a comeback at the end of the current campaign. The 28-year-old is more over a year into his second tenure with the reigning Serie A winners after previously spending four periods on loan at AC Milan, Monaco, and Napoli.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Despite frequently being in Stefan Pioli’s matchday squad, the midfielder is yet to feature for Milan in 2022–23 and struggled to make an impact in 15 outings the previous season. Beginning in 2022, Pioli wrote of Bakayoko that he is “Thought to be a very talented player, he had several excellent performances despite being unlucky in various circumstances. He has the potential to perform better and will assist the squad well.” But there haven’t been many indications that he really does.
There is a rumour that the Rossoneri will be forced to extend Bakayoko’s contract if he makes a predetermined amount of appearances this season.
The Frenchman’s career had been thought to benefit from a longer contract with Milan, but circumstances have forced a different course of action. Agent Marco Busiello, who assisted with the transfer, expressed his “sincere regret” for how events at the San Siro had transpired.
He stated: “It’s a terrible scenario since I really wanted this transfer a year and a half ago. He has always travelled on loan in recent years, which required him to relocate every year with his family to a different place and adjust to a new environment.” He was glad to return to Milan with a two-year loan and a right to purchase that became a duty under specific circumstances.
“The second adventure in Milan didn’t go as planned because of either the eruption of certain players or owing to injury, or to conditions that became a bit twisted, or both. Nobody benefits from the status quo as it is right now. I’m sorry, again.”
Bakayoko’s Chelsea deal has 18 months left on it, and the former Monaco star is set to be transferred in the summer. Busiello intends to explore for a move, but he also plans to keep an eye on the current Milan scenario.
The agent continued: “We’ll see; we’ll carefully assess Milan’s prospects. After the current year, he is under contract with Chelsea for another year. We’ll both have a look around.”
