“I’m very happy i leave Chelsea” – Player Chelsea sold this summer now Love his football new club
Former Chelsea defender, Kalidou Koulibaly, has expressed his contentment with his current football journey at Al-Hilal. In an interview with SSC Sport via Al-Hilal News, Koulibaly shared his satisfaction with being one of the standout players at his new club, following his departure from the Blues.
A year ago, there was immense anticipation surrounding Koulibaly’s arrival in the Premier League. However, it quickly became evident that he was struggling to meet the high expectations. Stamford Bridge witnessed several challenging moments, coinciding with a tough season for Chelsea.
His status as an indispensable player in the squad eroded rapidly, and he began to rotate with other defenders in the team.
Just a year into his Chelsea career, an enticing offer from Saudi Arabia emerged, providing Chelsea with an opportunity to secure a substantial transfer fee for him. Koulibaly, now with Al-Hilal, has expressed his genuine happiness with this new chapter.
In his own words, he stated, “After we scored, the game became easier for us but we have to keep going. Overall, it was a difficult game for me because it was my first game in ten days due to injury. I feel good, mentally and physically. Very happy to be here and play for these supporters. I will give them my 200 per cent because they deserve it.”
Staying at Chelsea would have likely relegated Koulibaly to the bench, with the return of Levi Colwill, who has recently earned his first call-up to the senior England side. This new phase at Al-Hilal marks a fresh start and a promising opportunity for the Senegal international to revive his football career.
