‘I’m not my self: Pat Nevin point what happened when he wrote about Mauricio Pochettino for Chelsea website
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Pat Nevin has revealed that he was compelled to make edits to an article on the Chelsea website concerning the potential appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the club’s new manager.
Speaking on ‘Off the Ball,’ Nevin explained that he is currently unable to mention Pochettino’s name on the website because the official announcement regarding his appointment has not been made yet.
Although it is widely anticipated that an announcement confirming Pochettino as the new boss is imminent, the recruitment process was protracted, and Pochettino appears to have emerged as the frontrunner.
There is significant pressure, particularly on Todd Boehly, to make the right appointment, given that the previous decision to hire Graham Potter proved to be unsuccessful.
Nevin’s need to revise the Pochettino article reflects the club’s current stance of maintaining secrecy regarding the permanent managerial position at Stamford Bridge.
Pat Nevin expressed his frustration with Chelsea, recounting a recent incident where he had to amend an article he wrote for the Chelsea website. Nevin explained that he had written a column about the prospective new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, while on a train journey to fulfill his current job commitments. However, upon arriving, he discovered that the club had not yet officially announced Pochettino’s appointment. Consequently, Nevin had to rewrite the article on a completely different topic, as the Chelsea website prohibits mentioning Pochettino’s name until the appointment is official.
The situation presents a challenge for interim manager Frank Lampard, as he strives to maintain focus among the team and supporters for the remaining matches of the season. The task becomes even more daunting considering that Chelsea will face three of the top four teams before the campaign concludes.
