‘I’ll never accept such lie’ – £5.2m Chelsea transfer target clears up deal rumor
Moukoko’s contract with Chelsea expires in 2023, giving the Blues the opportunity to sign him for nothing the following month.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Youssoufa Moukoko, a rising star for Borussia Dortmund, has disputed allegations that he declined a lucrative contract in Germany. A number of elite clubs are vying for the 18-year-signing old’s in the hopes of securing a top young talent for nothing when his current contract ends next summer.
While Moukoko spent the past month training with the German World Cup team, he only made one brief cameo off the bench in the final group game as Hansi Flick’s team was eliminated before to the round of 16. While he was in Qatar, it became clear that Chelsea was one among the teams vying to sign him.
As he approaches the halfway point of his contract, he can talk to teams about a pre-contract, but Dortmund are understandably eager to tie him in for longer. Moukoko is one of the brightest prospects in European football, with a stellar track record in the youth ranks and six goals in 14 league games this season.
Todd Boehly is determined to sign as many players in this area as he can, and he might be won over by his attitude as well. As rumours about his future circulate, Moukoko has stayed obstinate and expressed his unhappiness on Instagram.
Even if I’m still young and this is all part of the football business by this point, he wrote, “I won’t let myself be pressured in my decision about my future.” “I will never consent to a lie being told about me. It’s incredibly terrible that someone nowadays can create something like this to give my supporters a false impression of who I am. Very terrible indeed—I’m still in disbelief over the report.
It comes after German newspaper Bild reported that he had rejected a €6 million (£5.2 million) per year contract offer from his boyhood club in favour of one worth €7 million (£6.1 million). This amounts to a pay gap of $16,000 each week.
Currently two years into his first-ever senior contract, which he signed at the age of 16 in 2020, Moukoko will be entitled to a significant wage raise regardless of his next choice due to his position in the international game.
Assuring Sky Germany that the rumours weren’t real, his representative, Patrick Williams, stated, “I can confirm that we are not about to negotiate a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, I can guarantee that the figures being bandied about are false and that Youssoufa was never given that much. However, we are still in touch with Dortmund, and we’ll see what happens over the next several days.
“Every top team in the world is interested in a player like Youssoufa. especially if he has a future with the German national team and is free.
Chelsea has already demonstrated a desire to pursue young players, pushing to finalise a deal for 19-year-old David Datro Fofana and agreeing to pay £13 million for Brazilian 18-year-old Andrey Santos. Boehly also spent more than £50 million on teenagers in the summer, and he plans to bolster Chelsea’s roster with some of the top young players in the country throughout the ensuing transfer windows.
