Chelsea has suffered a significant blow since Kante’s injury, as the club continues to struggle in the middle.
However, the Blues have been hunting for a suitable successor for Ngolo Kante following his serious injury. A prominent player with Kante’s qualities has expressed a desire to play for Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Graham Potter and Moises Caicedo’s possible reunion at Chelsea is a ‘dream,’ according to Brighton player Moises Caicedo.
Potter departed Brighton after three years as a manager to join Chelsea, who were left without a manager after Thomas Tuchel was dismissed.
Because of his appointment a week after the transfer season ended, the 47-year-old will not be allowed to bring in any of his own recruits until January, but Caicedo has already emerged as a prospective possibility.
After training with Potter for 18 months at Brighton, the 20-year-old Ecuadorian international finally found his footing this season, attracting the interest of both Chelsea and Manchester United.
As a result, the prospect of reuniting with his former Stamford Bridge boss has been mooted, and Caicedo isn’t ruling it out.
It made me extremely upset when he [Potter] departed for Chelsea because he helped me a lot and I wanted to keep him as a manager, but that’s football,’ he told Argentine newspaper Olé.
‘You never know: you may be here today and gone tomorrow; that’s the duty of a footballer and a coach.’
‘He worked really well in Brighton, and people adored him.’ I’m thrilled for him and the fantastic opportunity that has been offered to him.’
‘Right now, I’m really focused on Brighton and the World Cup,’ Caicedo continued. I’m hoping for a successful World Cup, and then we’ll see what happens.
‘I believe they are one of the top teams in the world, and no one would refuse an offer from Chelsea or any other club of that caliber.’ It would be a dream to be a part of one of the top teams in the world and succeed there.’
Potter was held to a 1-1 draw on his Chelsea debut against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday night, with Noah Okafor canceling out Raheem Sterling’s opening in the 76th minute.
The loss drops his team to the bottom of Champions League Group E after they were defeated away at Dinamo Zagreb last week.
