Thiago Silva was given a yellow card by referee Chris Kavanagh, much to the chagrin of Palace manager Patrick Vieira.
After the game, Vieira spoke to the media and said it was a poor choice, but he refrained from saying any more because he believed he would face repercussions for expressing his opinions.
“Thiago, it’s something I don’t want to talk about,” stated Vieira. It’s hard for me to comprehend and accept it, therefore there are times when it’s preferable to be silent and avoid talking about it.
“I think the referee made a mistake, but if I express my opinion, I’ll be in trouble. Therefore, I’d rather not discuss.
“I don’t understand that choice, and I don’t want to talk about it,” the speaker says.
“We simply go on,” the referee said. “There is a referee, there is a VAR, and they are making choices.”
