The Blues knew they would finish first in Group E going into tonight’s game. The starting XI that Potter chose nonetheless featured players like Trevoh Chalobah, Jorginho, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The debut of Denis Zakaria occurred.
Sterling redemption???????
He constantly lost the ball, committed stupid fouls, missed 1 total sitter and skied another half decent chance. Happy for him that he scored but he's still bang average at best

Bruno Petkovic’s quick reaction in the penalty area allowed him to head the ball past Edouard Mendy, who had returned to the lineup after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s injury in the weekend loss to Brighton and Hove Albion, as Chelsea got off to a slow start at Stamford Bridge.

There had to be a response. Potter was lucky because it happened quickly. Raheem Sterling tied the score after good buildup play from both Jorginho and Aubameyang, and the Blues took the lead shortly after when Zakaria guided a shot into the corner of the net and past a defender who was covering.
Awful start but got back into it. So fed up of Sterling constantly losing the ball and missing total sitters. Auba is utterly pointless and Azpi is finished. Our finishing is atrocious overall, could have had at least 2 more goals had we had forwards who can actually score

Chelsea had opportunities to increase their lead. Ben Chilwell’s rasped drive from a sharp angle found the side netting, and Aubameyang’s curled effort rattled the crossbar. In the second half, Thiago Silva, who had come off the bench as a substitute, also mishit a free kick.
We still need better passes into the box. Most were literally just hitting it across the pole "hoping" someone will tap it in rather than actually playing it to a teammate
