Paul Canoville, a former Chelsea player, alleged on Twitter that he was not pleased with the way Thomas Tuchel handled Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The 21-year-old is said to be quitting the team he has played for his whole career because he is finding it difficult to make an impact under the current boss.
Due to Reece James and Ben Chilwell’s and other players’ injuries during the course of the previous season, he was regularly used in an unfamiliar wingback position.
Despite the absence of goals produced by the other assault players, this is the consequence of a battle to penetrate the Blues lines.
Canoville, a former Blue, was upset by this treatment and the strong indications that he would leave the team. He compared it to Tammy Abraham’s treatment at Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel has Canoville in a bad mood.
He said, “Nah. It bothers me to see it! Tammy-like treatment of Callum. Kid put in a lot of effort during the preseason to recover from his injuries. It’s not good form to freeze him out. Nope! Not pleased, TT!”
Although it’s fair to assume that supporters who bought into this hypothesis would have been disappointed with what they’ve seen so far, Hudson-Odoi has always been hailed as a youngster with potential to be the best academy graduate Cobham has ever seen.
In 72 appearances, the England international has scored just four Premier League goals, with the majority of those goals coming in early stages of cup tournaments.
It appears to be more harder for the 21-year-old to break in on his preferred left-hand side now that Raheem Sterling has joined the team and almost surely secured a starting place for the forthcoming season in attack.
With consistent playing time to improve his skills at the highest level, a Premier League loan may be the turning point for him.
