‘ I did the game’: Chris Sutton says to BBC after seeing what Graham Potter has wrote in his Chelsea programme notes
Graham Potter has come under fire from Chris Sutton for the message he recently conveyed to Chelsea supporters in his programme notes.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Sutton asserted during an appearance on the BBC Monday Night Club that the Stamford Bridge faithful would have thrown up their hands in anger at the manager’s most recent written acknowledgement.
At every home game, Potter has the opportunity to address the club’s supporters through the match programme.
He can address concerns both on and off the field, as well as evaluate the opposition and any other problems he wishes to address.
The coach’s letter from the team’s most recent outing at the Bridge, though, really didn’t sit well with Sutton.
The language Graham Potter employs is what concerns me the most about him. On Thursday night, I attended the game (against Manchester City), and the former Chelsea forward noticed that he had mentioned Nottingham Forest in the programme notes.
“You must remember the opponent, Nottingham Forest, when offering them praise since Forest is a squad that is fighting for its playoff life.
Chelsea supporters will read that and probably start pulling out their hair. Another Chelsea boss using words like that is unthinkable.
The polite manager of Chelsea is Graham Potter.
Potter’s tactful approach was undoubtedly in line with his modesty and sincerity.
The 47-year-old will never race up and down the touchline like Thomas Tuchel or Antonio Conte, or play mind games like Jose Mourinho.
His demeanour is cool and collected, with little potential for uproar or controversy.
Even if they are by no means undesirable qualities, in the world of football, decent people frequently don’t make it very far.
A ruthless streak is especially necessary for managers to succeed.
The dugout’s most successful men have all revealed a sinister side to their personalities.
Maybe Potter needs to track down his personal demon to prevent Chelsea from firing him.
