According to Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, Chelsea manager Graham Potter will eventually bring success to the club but he has doubts about their chances of overcoming Real Madrid in the Champions League.
Aguero said in an interview with Stake: “Graham Potter hasn’t been managing Chelsea for long and has had to deal with many changes in the team due to injuries and new arrivals. Going straight into major competitions may not be advisable, but he needs more time to achieve great results. We saw this during his time at Brighton, and he will surely find a way to repeat that success at Chelsea.”
Regarding Chelsea’s chances against Real Madrid in the Champions League, Aguero acknowledged the history and present of the Spanish giants, saying that they are likely to win the tie. However, he added that small things can make a big difference, and Chelsea has a squad of fantastic players that can cause problems for Real Madrid.
Aguero also noted that Chelsea will need to adapt to new players and systems, which could make the match more difficult for them. Despite this, he still believes that Real Madrid has the edge in the tie.
