However, Chelsea is now interested in signing Aubameyang after losing out on deals for Harry Kane, Darwin Nunez, Robert Lewandowski, Erling Haaland, and even Robert Lewandowski. Thomas Tuchel is aware that his squad needs to sign another striker.
The 33-year-old scored 92 goals in 163 appearances during the course of his four seasons with the Gunners, but Mikel Arteta’s decision to divest him of his leadership caused him to leave the Emirates under a cloud.
He scored 13 goals for Spain to show that he is still capable of doing so, but he has seemed to be a totally different player since joining Barcelona in the January transfer window.
But the surprising rumors that Chelsea would make a surprise deal have been sparked by Robert Lewandowski’s arrival from Bayern Munich, who will not get the playing time he wants and is presently likely to depart the Cam Nou.
Bent has now publicly said that Aubameyang would be a terrific addition to the Tuchel team despite all the rumours that the Blues may make a deal. He said on talkSPORT: “[Aubameyang] would be a nice addition to the group.
“One thing about Aubameyang that we do know is that when he joins a new football team, he gets right to work. He is someone who is familiar with the location of the net’s back.
“His goal-scoring records are fantastic.”
