Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a summer exit, according to reports.
Lukaku’s struggles at the club this season have sparked speculation that he may want to return to Inter Milan, where he previously played.
Lukaku and Inter Milan are ready for the deal to go through, but according to Italian writer Gianluca Di Marzio, Lukaku’s fate may be determined by Marina Granovskaia’s decision to stay on as Chelsea director.
“It now rests on who will decide Chelsea’s destiny,” Di Marzio told Wettfreunde.
Marina Granovskaia’s decision on whether or not to stay. Knowing how hard she worked to get Lukaku with Inter last summer, I doubt she will stay and tell him, “You can go to Inter on loan with no option to purchase.”
“I believe it will be extremely tough, but nothing is impossible in football transfers.”
“If Lukaku says, ‘Oh, I’m only going to Inter, else I’m not coming back,’ then it all relies on the club’s position in Lukaku’s condition.”
“Obviously, Inter is on the lookout. If they think there’s a chance of getting Lukaku, they’ll strive to acquire him.”
