“He’s one of the perfect sign for the position” – What Enzo Maresca is already ‘loving’ about Jadon Sancho in Chelsea training
Sancho joined Chelsea from Manchester United on deadline day, marking the club’s final signing of the summer transfer window. Unfortunately, he did not sign in time to feature in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, a match where Chelsea struggled to break down a solid Palace defense. Maresca has expressed that he would have liked to have Sancho available for that game.
Chelsea’s next fixture is an away match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, and it seems increasingly likely that Sancho could make his debut in that game.
Jadon Sancho Impressing Enzo Maresca and Chelsea Coaching Staff
With many Chelsea players away on international duty, Sancho is getting ample opportunity to showcase his abilities to Maresca and his coaching team. According to journalist Simon Phillips, Maresca has been impressed with Sancho’s attitude, energy, and quality during training sessions at Cobham.
On his Substack, Phillips wrote, “SPTC sources have heard that Maresca and his staff are loving Sancho in training, and he has really impressed them all with his quality, and his attitude and energy.”
Jadon Sancho’s Advantage Over Other Chelsea Attackers
Sancho faces stiff competition for a starting spot in Chelsea’s attack, with options such as Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Noni Madueke all vying for places in the forward line. However, with those players currently away on international duty, Sancho has the advantage of working closely with Maresca during the break.
This one-on-one time could give him an edge heading into the Bournemouth clash, potentially putting him in line for a starting role.
Maresca has an abundance of attacking talent at his disposal, but having someone like Sancho in the mix gives him even more options to choose from—a good problem for any manager to have.
