Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed yet another Chelsea transfer with his famous “here we go” announcement, even though the transfer window officially closed last Friday for many European leagues. However, it’s important to note that some transfer windows around the world are still open, including the Saudi league.
Chelsea have taken advantage of this by finalizing the sale of Angelo Gabriel to Saudi club Al Nassr. Romano confirmed the deal, stating:
“Angelo Gabriel leaves Chelsea to join Al Nassr, here we go confirmed! Medical done and documents being exchanged, reviewed tonight. €23m fee plus sell-on clause as wanted by Chelsea.”
The Blues have secured a €23 million fee for Angelo, along with a sell-on clause, marking a small profit on a player who wasn’t part of their long-term plans. Angelo spent last season on loan with Strasbourg and, despite showing promise, was unlikely to break into Chelsea’s first team given the abundance of attacking midfield talent currently at the club.
Moving to Saudi Arabia at a young age might seem like an unusual choice for a player with potential, but it offers Angelo the opportunity to earn a significant salary.
