Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former Chelsea and Manchester City winger, has encouraged Chelsea to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has revealed that his 8-year affiliation with the German champions is coming to an end.
Barcelona is said to be the most interested in signing Lewandowski, but their financial difficulties may jeopardize the deal.
Robert Lewandowski scored 35 goals in 34 Bundesliga games last season, demonstrating that he is a world-class striker by any standard.
Chelsea should sign Lewandowski as a replacement for Wright-Phillips, since he would always guarantee goals.
“No matter what side Robert Lewandowski plays for, he always finds a way to score a goal,” Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino. “He’d be the perfect substitute for Romelu Lukaku, but Chelsea would still need to play to his strengths to make it work.”
On May 30, Robert Lewandowski informed press that he would discuss his future when Poland’s Nations League campaign ended in June.
Despite playing his final international match of the season on Tuesday, the striker has chosen to keep mute.
On his arrival in Mallorca, where he is spending a few days on vacation, Lewandowski told GOL, “I promised that after the game against Belgium, I would speak more about my future.”
“Please realize that I am unable to make any additional statements.”
