“He will leave” – Chelsea agreed to sell ‘world-class’ player in 2024 they’ve already named their price on
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has established the asking price for Romelu Lukaku ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window. The club is willing to sell Lukaku for approximately £37 million next year. Despite Lukaku being currently on loan at AS Roma, the option to sign him for this amount is not exclusive to the Italian club.
However, if Lukaku maintains his current form, Roma may have no option but to secure his permanent transfer. Lukaku has showcased exceptional performance for Jose Mourinho’s team, scoring five goals in six Serie A appearances this season. Acquiring Lukaku for £37 million could prove to be a bargain in the current market, where acquiring midfielders can cost over £100 million.
Though Lukaku is 30 years old and not getting any younger, he remains one of the top goalscorers in the game, as evident from his displays this season. Despite not thriving at Chelsea, being hailed as a “world-class striker” by his former manager Thomas Tuchel, Lukaku’s prowess is unquestionable. While it’s regrettable that things didn’t work out for Lukaku at Stamford Bridge, he continues to be a valuable player, and his departure from Chelsea could be a significant gain for another club. Considering Chelsea’s recent struggles in scoring goals, Lukaku’s profile as a prolific goal scorer could have addressed their offensive needs.
🚨🇧🇪 Understand Chelsea have already fixed an exit fee for Romelu Lukaku in summer 2024 — and it’s around £37m.
There’s an agreement to make Romelu available for that fee next year.
Lukaku, doing great on loan to Roma as he scored 7 goals.
