The Blues had a number of injuries going into the game. N’Golo Kante, Carney Chukwuemeka, Reece James, Wesley Fofana, Ben Chilwell, Kepa Arrizabalaga, and Kalidou Koulibaly were all ruled out due to injuries, while Mateo Kovacic and Kalidou Koulibaly were only healthy enough to sit on the bench as substitutes.

Chelsea got off to a slow start and encountered difficulty breaking free of the Arsenal press. But the Gunners did not have it easy; the closest the visitors came in the first 45 minutes was a close-range header from Gabriel Jesus that he deflected wide.
Embarrassing from everyone

At least from the perspective of Chelsea, it was hoped that the halftime break would give players a chance to regroup and perform better in the second half. That didn’t happen, as Arsenal eventually succeeded in breaking through when Gabriel was able to nudge the ball across the line from inside the six-yard box due to appalling marking from a corner.
Not much work ….just a sack

Chelsea was required to respond. It did not appear. Armando Broja had a few particularly impressive forays forward, but the Blues failed to generate a big opportunity, allowing Arsenal to leave Stamford Bridge with all three points for the third straight year.
What a disgrace

Repeat Arsenal process?
I’ve been here eight weeks and a lot has happened and we’ve had a lot to deal with. If you look at the Arsenal story to where they were two years ago, it was slightly different. Mikel was getting pelters. That’s the life, that’s the difference.
Did you think Saka dived in the first half?
I think there was on action was a bit contentious but I don’t think he’s that type of player.
How if Ben Chilwell?
He is going to miss the World Cup which is bad news for any player. We just have to help him get fit and strong when he is right.
