Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus has been pushed to join Premier League rivals, Chelsea, this summer by Stan Collymore.
Jesus, 25, of Manchester City, has been linked with a transfer away from the Etihad Stadium.
Chelsea has started discussions to sign the Brazilian forward, according to Fabrizio Romano. Arsenal, on the other hand, is a strong contender for his signing.
Jesus, according to Romano, might cost at least €50 million (£43 million) to sign during this transfer window.
Pundit Collymore has made a compelling case for why Chelsea, rather than Arsenal, is the best option for Jesus this summer.
He believes the 25-year-old possesses all of the necessary qualities to succeed in the Stamford Bridge system.
“If he joins Chelsea, he has the potential to be the player Romelu Lukaku was supposed to be but never was.” Chelsea creates a lot of opportunities, they put the ball in the box a lot, and Jesus can be the fox in the box that I’ve always said they need. “Jesus might be that man if he simply focused on doing some very outstanding work in the box,” Collymore added.
“I’d be thinking of myself in the blue jersey at Stamford Bridge if I were Jesus.” Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, and, if he remains, Timo Werner would be putting it on a platter for me next season, and I’d be scoring 25 goals as a regular starter.”
Chelsea will undoubtedly require more from their forwards next season.
Jesus’ track record suggests he may be a good fit for the Blues, yet so many attackers have failed at Stamford Bridge.
There’s had to be some pressure on Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel next season to get the most out of an offensive system. Many Blues supporters will be hoping that Jesus plays a role in the game.
