“He massively failed the club” – Stan Collymore find the solution to £100k-a-week Chelsea player
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Stan Collymore has proposed that Mykhailo Mudryk is in dire need of a loan stint away from Chelsea.
Mudryk, a 22-year-old talent, has faced considerable challenges donning the Chelsea jersey since his arrival at Stamford Bridge midway through the previous season. Despite his potential showcased through raw speed and dribbling abilities, the £100,000-a-week youngster, as per Spotrac, struggles to amalgamate these qualities, especially under the watchful eyes of media scrutiny.
Regrettably, the left-winger has accumulated 21 appearances for the Blues without finding the back of the net.
Pundit Stan Collymore asserts that Mudryk has thus far “fallen significantly short” during his tenure in West London but remains optimistic about his prospects. He suggests that the Ukrainian international could experience substantial growth as a player if granted a loan opportunity, with Borussia Dortmund being proposed as a potential destination.
“There have been some reports that a January loan move for Mykhailo Mudryk could be on the cards. I actually think that’s a great idea,” Collymore wrote in his column for CaughtOffside.
“Let’s not forget, this is a young player who played just 44 games for Shakhtar Donetsk before Chelsea signed him for nearly £90million. Some players can live up to the hype, others can’t, and so far, Mudryk has massively failed. He can still fulfil his potential – he’s only 22 years old but he has to rack up more games before Chelsea can expect him to be their first-choice left winger. He is simply too inexperienced.
“When it comes to what clubs should try and snap Mudryk up, I know Roberto De Zerbi is a big fan – he even said he could win the Ballon d’Or in the future, but I wouldn’t send him out on loan to another Premier League club.“I think he needs to drop down a tier but go and play for a club where the expectation to win week in and week out is just as high as it is at Chelsea. Whether or not they’d have him is another matter, but I think Borussia Dortmund could be the perfect club to get Mudryk firing and on the right track to becoming the player he has the potential to be.”
To make a turnaround at Stamford Bridge, regular playing time is imperative.
Hopefully, Mauricio Pochettino can be the right head coach to extract the best from this struggling youngster in terms of confidence and form.
