Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has expressed confidence in his teammate Levi Colwill, foreseeing a bright future for him at both club and country levels. Gallagher and Colwill were both selected for England’s squad for the upcoming matches against Australia and Italy.
Levi Colwill has made a strong impression at Chelsea since his return from a loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion. Despite being a central defender by trade, the 20-year-old has been performing exceptionally well as a left-back, solidifying his position under Mauricio Pochettino.
Gallagher was full of praise for Colwill during an interview while on international duty with England. He lauded Colwill as a great talent with immense potential, emphasizing that he’s still young and has already showcased his quality at Chelsea. Gallagher expressed confidence that Colwill will shine for both Chelsea and the England national team in the future.
While Colwill was previously included in England’s squad but didn’t secure his senior cap, the absence of key left-backs like Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw may provide him with an opportunity to feature in the upcoming matches. Given his performance in the left-back position this season, there’s a chance Southgate might grant him playing time.
Colwill’s young age and potential mean he has time on his side in his pursuit of becoming a full England international. The upcoming international break in November could present another opportunity for Colwill to make his debut if he doesn’t get it in the upcoming matches.
