Wilfried Zaha, a target for Arsenal and a winger for Crystal Palace, would be an excellent addition for Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea in the next summer transfer window, according to Paul Merson’s SportsKeeda article.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The former Arsenal great think that Zaha has improved as a player since coming back to Palace from Manchester United and that his addition to the Chelsea club will be beneficial.
The 29-year-old Ivory Coast international winger, who makes £130,000 a week in salary, has been linked to both Arsenal and Chelsea (Spotrac).
Interest from Arsenal and Chelsea in the Crystal Palace Wing-Wilfied Zaha
Chelsea has reportedly rekindled its interest in Zaha and is planning an offer to sign him before the summer transfer window ends on Thursday, according to The Independent.
Miguel Delaney, a writer for the Independent, indicated on Twitter that Arsenal may make a last-minute offer for the winger.
Dean Jones, a well-known and respected writer, said last week on The Done Deal Show that Arsenal is interested in signing the former Manchester United star.
MARSHALL MERSON’S DECISION
Zaha has been linked with a move to Chelsea, but it is unclear whether he will complete a deal before the deadline, Merson said on SportsKeeda.
I believe that a lot of people unfairly evaluated him based on his time while playing for Manchester United.
Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah, for example, didn’t quite cut it at Chelsea, but look at them now!
“Zaha has improved his goal-scoring ability and, in my view, will be a very beneficial addition for Chelsea.”
COULD there be a transfer?
We believe Wilfried Zaha of London and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace might be acquired by Chelsea or Arsenal this week.
The former Manchester United player will no longer be in touch with Palace after the conclusion of the current campaign, so the Eagles could be inclined to sell him now for a respectable transfer price rather than risk losing him for nothing in the summer of 2019.
Given the size of Chelsea and Arsenal, the winger would likely welcome the opportunity to join either team.
In 281 Premier League games so far, Zaha has totaled 64 goals and 45 significant opportunities created.
