Chelsea put on a pitiful performance against Brighton on Saturday, surrendering three goals in the opening period.
The former Brighton manager responded to his critics by claiming that the defeat will only help his team go better.
“The players aren’t always the focus. I am a part of a group, and it is about all of us. how we can get better.
“We must both become better—I must. We will.
“We started off [against Brighton] pretty poorly. But occasionally you need that if you want to advance. The idea that the line will rise straight up is illogical.
“Unless there is a better choice. Every time you want to learn something new or improve at something, you periodically have to step back, endure a difficult moment, or endure agony.
