On deadline day, Conor Gallagher was the focus of rumours as multiple teams were interested in acquiring the Chelsea midfielder.
Despite interest from numerous Premier League teams, football.london knows that Conor Gallagher will stay with Chelsea on the transfer deadline day.
The 22-year-future old’s has been a topic of discussion throughout the January transfer season, and two weeks ago, both Newcastle United and Crystal Palace indicated interest in signing him on loan from Chelsea. Graham Potter quickly declined such requests because he wanted to keep Gallagher on his first-team roster.
The last few hours of the window are reported to have seen no change in Potter’s stance, and the academy graduate’s options for employment have shrunk. While West Ham United has not pursued a trade, it is believed that Gallagher would not find a prospective switch to Everton appealing.
Although it is believed that they are still keeping an eye on Gallagher’s status at Chelsea as the transfer season enters its final hours, Palace has concentrated its emphasis on closing the loan signing of Albert Sambi Lokonga from London rivals Arsenal on deadline day.
Given that Newcastle is now seen as a true top-four competitor, Chelsea has little desire to let Gallagher play for them for the duration of the season.
Today, one midfielder—Jorginho—left Stamford Bridge after agreeing to join Arsenal. According to football.london, the Gunners have agreed to a deal worth an initial £10 million, and they would pay an additional £2 million if certain conditions are completed, including winning the Premier League.
Before tonight’s 11 p.m. deadline, Chelsea is still trying to reach an agreement with Benfica to acquire Enzo Fernandez. The Blues and the Portuguese powerhouses have been in discussions all day, but no agreement has been reached about the payment schedule for a transfer that will cost more than £105 million.

Chelsea reportedly told London yesterday that they weren’t expected to try again on deadline day to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton. The Seagulls rejected the Blues’ offer of almost £55 million last week, and despite interest from Arsenal, they haven’t submitted a new offer.
