Feliciano, one of the founders of Clearlake Capital and a part owner of Chelsea Football Club, recently addressed questions regarding Chelsea’s transfer spending and the scrutiny they face as owners of the club. He noted that while the club spent significantly on new player signings in the past three transfer windows, they also sold players and reduced overall operating expenses, emphasizing a balance in the financial aspect.
Feliciano expressed surprise at the level of scrutiny they face, particularly from the British press, highlighting that Clearlake owns several other businesses larger than Chelsea. He pointed out that these other businesses undergo significant transformations but do not receive the same media attention.
However, he acknowledged the inevitable media pressure and stories that come with owning one of the world’s biggest football clubs like Chelsea.
