FIFA step in Senegal are under investigation for breaking World Cup rules before Ecuador clash
Senegal, the defending African champions, is being investigated for violating FIFA rules before their significant 2-1 World Cup victory over Ecuador.

The head coach of the African champions, who will play England in the round of 16, attended his pre-game press conference prior to the match against Ecuador without a member of his team, according to FIFA.
According to FIFA regulations, each team is required to hold a news conference in one of the two press conference rooms in the main media center the day before a game.
The head coach of the team and one of his players must be present.
On Wednesday, FIFA declared that they will be looking at the situation.
According to a statement, the Senegalese Football Federation may have violated articles 44 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM Regulations, 2.7.2 of the Media and Marketing Regulations, and 8.5.3 of the Team Handbook. As a result, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee has begun legal action against the federation.
The mandatory news conference that was held on November 28 before Ecuador vs. Senegal FIFA World CupTM match is at the center of the potential violations.
