He is currently back with the League One club, however, and will be trying to help them improve on their third-place League One result from 2021–2022, as Chelsea aims to give him more first-team experience.
He is the sixth summer signing, after Matt Dennis, Ethan Robson, Jack Tucker, Nathan Holland, Conor Grant, and Darragh Burns.
Cumming recently completed a move back to the Dons and has since expressed his happiness at being back with the group he spent so much time with the previous season.
Cumming told iFollow MK Dons, “I am excited to be back. “I’m delighted it’s done and I am looking forward to getting going again. I’ve always had it in the back of my mind that I would want to come back if circumstances were right.” I have big goals and want to compete at the top level, but at this point in my career, it makes sense for me to return here, play more games, and continue to grow as a person and a player.
I enjoyed working with Pricey, Franco, and Ronnie, and I’m eager to do so again while getting to know some of the newcomers who have joined this summer.
Liam Sweeting, the sporting director, said: “This is a great acquisition for the Football Club. We are certainly thrilled to have Jamie back with us for this season since we all witnessed the effect he had when he joined in January.
“As a Club, we have a solid reputation among Premier League clubs as a destination for some of their most talented and promising young players, therefore it’s important that we choose wisely to ensure that we make the most of the loan market for ourselves.
“Jamie is a terrific example of a motivated and very skilled athlete who wants to help us reach our goals this season,” said the coach.“
“I’d want to thank Carlo Cudicini and Chelsea for trusting us again this season,” Sweeting said.
