Mudryk’s impressive performance against Fulham was the result of weeks of consistent displays and dedicated hard work on the training ground. His goal came in the first half, calmly slotting the ball past Bernd Leno after receiving a pass from Levi Colwill, giving Chelsea the lead in the West London derby.
Armando Broja quickly added another goal within a minute, marking his return after a significant knee injury in December the previous year. The joy and relief were evident on Mudryk’s face and shared by his teammates.
Fernandez, a World Cup winner, showed his admiration for Mudryk’s achievement in a personal message on Instagram. He expressed, “You deserve Misha”.
However, concerns arose in the second half when Mudryk didn’t join his teammates on the field. He was eventually replaced by Ian Maatsen due to a thigh injury. Fortunately, initial reports suggested the injury might not be severe, providing hope that Mudryk can continue his impressive form in the upcoming Premier League match against Burnley.
