Despite missing nine players, Chelsea started strong, taking an early lead with a stunning volley from Chilwell. Joao Felix appeared to have scored a second goal, but it was disallowed due to an offside ruling. Leicester managed to level the score when Patson Daka took advantage of a mistake from Felix to score from distance. However, a beautiful pass from Enzo Fernandez found Havertz, who scored his goal just before halftime. Leicester attempted a comeback in the second half, but a missed opportunity from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and another VAR ruling that disallowed a Mudryk goal proved costly. In the end, Kovacic’s expert volley secured the win for Chelsea.
