Chelsea is reportedly mulling a second bid that may be worth £60 million.
Paul Merson counseled the young winger to follow his instincts in the Anthony Gordon scenario.
Gordon was also cautioned by Paul Merson that his playing time and, consequently, his Chelsea career, may suffer.
“This transfer window is going to be a challenging one for Anthony Gordon,” Merson told Sportskeeda.
“In a way, he’s Everton’s superstar, and he’s had his head turned.
“If he has the opportunity, I believe he will go for Chelsea tomorrow morning. However, I don’t believe he would play for them nearly as much as he could for Everton.
At Everton, Anthony Gordon is revered. He will participate each week and be a large fish in a tiny pond. Will he travel to Chelsea just to watch from the sidelines? We could be asking, “What happened to that Gordon?” in a few years.
