Journalist Georg Holzner has reported that Thomas Tuchel, the former Chelsea manager, had been engaged in advanced discussions with Tottenham to become their new boss. However, Graham Potter, his replacement, won four consecutive games and led the team to the knockout stages of the tournament.
According to Holzner, Tuchel was not only interested in the Bayern job but had also considered taking over at Tottenham, although Antonio Conte has not yet been officially sacked. Holzner stated that Tuchel had been in close talks with Tottenham and was attracted to their project. However, now that Bayern has offered him a job, he is pursuing that opportunity.

Chelsea staff had reportedly warned Tottenham before they hired him that working with Conte would be even more challenging than working with Jose Mourinho.
