Crystal Palace’s lack of goals this season has led them to target a potential solution from Chelsea, with a player showing promising potential.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Oliver Glasner is surely baffled by how things have unfolded so far this season.
With only eight goals scored, Crystal Palace finds themselves second from the bottom in the league, only ahead of 20th-placed Southampton. This underwhelming attacking performance has left them in 18th place, and with relegation a real threat, the momentum generated by their victories over Tottenham and Aston Villa seems to have evaporated.
As a result, reports indicate that Dougie Freedman is determined to sign a forward this summer.
Now, the Eagles have set their sights on a loan move for a Chelsea player. Football Transfers has reported that Crystal Palace has made an approach to Chelsea to bring out-of-favor Mudryk to Selhurst Park in January.
On paper, this could be a win-win for both the player and the club, especially if Glasner can unlock Mudryk’s potential. With Steve Parish viewing Mudryk as a game-changer in the same vein as Wilfried Zaha, the move could prove to be a real turning point. Crystal Palace, paying Mudryk’s £100,000-a-week wages, might just make this deal work. But there’s one significant obstacle to the transfer.
While a loan move for Mudryk could be a brilliant decision and potentially a future permanent transfer, the chances of it happening in January are virtually nonexistent.
Under Premier League loan rules, only one player can be loaned from the same club in a single season. As outlined in the Premier League Handbook section V.7.5, a team can register no more than four loan players in a season, but no more than one can be from the same club.
Since Trevoh Chalobah is already on loan to the Eagles, the possibility of bringing Mudryk on loan becomes impossible unless Chalobah is signed permanently or Mudryk is purchased outright. This rumor is, unfortunately, a non-starter.
