Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea have a busy summer of transfers ahead of them. It follows a challenging season at Stamford Bridge, as issues on and off the field were highlighted.
The Blues struggled to third place but failed to add either of the domestic championships to their collection due to two penalty defeats to Liverpool in different finals. Off the field, ownership issues plagued the team for months until Todd Boehly ultimately closed the deal.
After a challenging season and the departure of many important players, Tuchel has acknowledged that his team has to “rebuild” this summer: “We are reconstructing, not upgrading the squad. We are reconstructing. Even if this is difficult, we are up for the task.
