Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The Italian top-flight team is interested in signing the 21-year-old Blues star this season, according to the Evening Standard.
According to the source, Empoli has approached Wales international about a possible loan, but any prospective agreement depends on what Chelsea does in the transfer market with regard to new players.
It appears that Thomas Tuchel’s team won’t let Ampadu depart until a “big” new center-back deal has been made.
Ampadu is a fantastically flexible young player who has demonstrated his talent as a center-half or midfielder, making him a terrific option as a backup in the group at Stamford Bridge at the moment.
Ampadu, 21, might stay another year on loan if the right situations arise, according to Empoli’s loan offer.
The gifted youngster spent the previous season on loan with Venezia of Italy, a team that was eventually demoted from the top league.
The Chelsea-owned talent is, however, receiving the first-team minutes necessary for him to mature at his age.
Wesley Fofana of Leicester City certainly matches that description, and Chelsea is in dire need of a “big” new reinforcement in defense.
The Blues reportedly want to sign the 21-year-old center-back from Leicester, therefore Ampadu’s future with the club may be affected.
Ampadu certainly didn’t seem out of place during the preseason with Tuchel’s squad, but the player may benefit from spending another year on loan during a World Cup year.
