Because Mount only has 18 months left on his current Chelsea contract, Chelsea is concerned about his apparent resistance to signing.
The 23-year-old Mount is one of Chelsea’s lowest-paid players, making about £85,000 per week. Shortly after he returned to the team from his loan stint at Derby three years ago, the contract was signed.
Reece James and Trevoh Chalobah, teammates of Mount at Chelsea, recently committed to long-term contracts with the club.
