Chelsea FC has issued Antonio Rudiger a farewell note, as both the club and the player have announced Rudiger’s departure to Real Madrid.
“We bid farewell to Antonio Rudiger as he exits Stamford Bridge with his Chelsea contract ending, putting to a conclusion his five trophy-filled years with the club,” Chelsea stated in a statement.
“After playing a key role in our recent achievements, the German defender has left Chelsea to join Real Madrid. Rudiger won the FA Cup, Champions League, Europa League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup with Chelsea, where he was a key figure in all of our victories.
“With his leadership and enthusiasm, the 29-year-old was an essential presence in the dressing room, and his drive and desire to win never wavered, even when it became evident he would be departing the club this summer.” Rudiger’s dissatisfaction was palpable after defeats to Real Madrid in the Champions League and Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup finals denied him the opportunity to say goodbye with one more trophy.”
“Chelsea Football Club appreciates Toni for his contribution to our achievements over the previous five years and wishes him the best of luck in his future career,” the statement added.
