Chelsea’s £35 Million Bid for Little-Known Striker
Chelsea has launched a £35 million offer for a striker who may not be familiar to many fans.
Chelsea’s Busy Transfer Window
Chelsea is having another hectic transfer window as they aim to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad for the upcoming season. A top priority for the Italian coach is to bring in a new striker, and it seems the club might end up securing two.
The Blues are eyeing Victor Osimhen from Napoli, but they’re reluctant to meet his £113 million release clause. To potentially ease the process, Chelsea hopes that a move involving Romelu Lukaku going the other way could help facilitate the deal. In the meantime, Chelsea is poised to finalize the signing of another striker.
Deal for Samu Omorodion
Chelsea has agreed on a £35 million deal with Atletico Madrid for young striker Samu Omorodion. According to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are now underway between the player’s representatives and the London club regarding personal terms.
However, Atletico Madrid will only approve Omorodion’s sale once they secure Julian Alvarez from Manchester City. Despite this, The Telegraph reports that Chelsea is considering signing both Osimhen and Omorodion, with both potentially joining Nicolas Jackson in Maresca’s squad.
Omorodion’s Background
The 20-year-old Omorodion joined Atletico Madrid last summer but hasn’t played a competitive match for them yet. He spent the last season on loan at Alaves, where he scored eight goals in 34 La Liga appearances. Although he has some Spanish top-flight experience, many Chelsea fans are uncertain about investing in a relatively unproven talent.
The fan reactions on social media have been mixed, with some expressing frustration. Comments include: “Confused club,” “This club is a joke,” and “Chelsea keeps buying every random player available in the market.” One fan even criticized Todd Boehly’s approach, saying, “Another random signing from Todd Boehly, he really came in and turned Chelsea into a mid-table club.”
Conor Gallagher’s Move
In a separate development, Conor Gallagher is on the verge of a £33.7 million transfer to Atletico Madrid after declining a new contract offer from Chelsea.
