Kevin Campbell asserts that Chelsea would have “hit the jackpot” if Raheem Sterling scores 20 league goals for them in the forthcoming season.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Sterling was one of the surprise players to join the transfer market this summer after it was discovered that Man City was prepared to let the England international leave the club.
That allowed Chelsea to proceed and make the £47 million offer to Man City that they requested, as well as giving Sterling the reported salary of £300,000 per week, in order to conclude a deal.
Many are ecstatic that Sterling has joined Chelsea, and when Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury questioned Campbell about whether Sterling may surpass the 20-goal plateau at Chelsea this season, Campbell replied, “Of course he might.
Raheem Sterling is a talented athlete. There has been some change at Chelsea, and they should strive to spread out the offensive load more.
“They had intended to rely on Lukaku, but it didn’t pan out, so Havertz had to play forward. Another player who hasn’t succeeded yet is Timo Werner.
They intend to attempt and obtain 15 to 20 goals from Sterling; if they succeed, I believe Chelsea have struck gold.
“They haven’t had that for a very long time, but he is capable of scoring that amount.”
However, there is no denying that Sterling is a world-class player who will significantly enhance the Chelsea attack and score more goals for Thomas Tuchel.
We all can’t wait to see what he can add to the team, but letting him leave for Chelsea might be a huge error for the Champions given that he will score goals.
