Mac Allister was a crucial player for Argentina during their World Cup win in December and has been compared to the legendary forward by former Arsenal defender Martin Keown.
Keown believes that Mac Allister’s exceptional technical skills enable him to excel in various midfield positions. “Mac Allister is almost like Brighton’s version of Messi,” Keown stated on talkSPORT. “He’s versatile enough to play deep or higher up the field, with his slick passing, technique, and quality. We’ve always known he had that potential, and it just keeps getting better, as evidenced by his recent contract extension. With him in the lineup, Brighton could even secure a fourth-place finish.”
