Lucas Bergstrom, a goalkeeper for Chelsea, is on loan at Peterborough United in League One.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The 19-year-old, who is 6ft 7 in height, joined Chelsea from Turun Palloseura in Finland for the 2018/19 season and has been a fixture in the Chelsea Academy teams.
Last season, the Finnish goalkeeper was a fourth-choice shot-stopper in Chelsea’s Premier League 25-man squad after impressing the coaches with his performances at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea has high hopes for him to improve to the point where he can fight for the number one place in the future seasons, but they realize that sitting on the bench will not help him achieve that goal.
They also made the wise choice to allow the big unit to depart for the next 12 months in order for them to acquire some playing time and minutes with a very excellent lower league team.
Posh manager Grant McCann was delighted to gain his services after learning of the transaction and expressed gratitude to the Premier League club for enabling the move to take place.

“At Chelsea, Lucas is well regarded. He’s domineering, a great shot-blocker, and a cross-attacking force. He’s also quick on his feet. “I owe Carlo Cudicini and Chelsea a big debt of gratitude for entrusting us with furthering Lucas’ development, and we’re excited to work with him,” McCann said.
When the Posh group returns for pre-season testing on June 22nd, Bergström will be reunited with his new teammates. On his arrival to the idverde Training Ground, Bergström will be interviewed.
