‘buyers can’t afford him right now’ Club hold talks about signing ‘brilliant’ Chelsea star
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!According to a report from Sky Sports, Juventus has entered talks with Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for Romelu Lukaku. The Italian club is now in competition with Serie A rivals Inter Milan, who are eager to re-sign the 30-year-old striker after his loan spell with them last season.
Lukaku is said to prefer a move to Italy, but there is also interest from Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal. However, Inter Milan may currently lack the funds to complete a deal and might need to generate cash through player sales. They are reportedly discussing the potential sale of goalkeeper Andre Onana to Manchester United.
The Evening Standard previously reported that Lukaku is willing to take a pay cut in order to facilitate a move to Inter. Journalist Nizaar Kinsella stated on Twitter that Chelsea has rejected Inter’s latest approach and is demanding £40 million for the striker.
With the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea’s new head coach, significant changes are taking place at Stamford Bridge. However, it remains unlikely that Lukaku will make a U-turn and regain favor at the club. A move to Inter would be ideal if they can raise the necessary funds. Alternatively, Juventus could be a suitable option given Lukaku’s previous success in Serie A.
Lukaku, who has received praise from Shane Duffy in the Daily Express, appears to be looking to sever ties with Chelsea this summer.
