There has been considerable discussion over whether they would be given opportunities to demonstrate their worth at Chelsea next season, but Tuchel has now declared that they will be given the opportunity to compete for a starting berth.
‘First and foremost, they will come back, for sure, because they are our players,’ Tuchel said when asked if the two will return to his side next season.
‘When we loan them out, it’s not just for them; it’s also for us to get better, more experienced players back.’
‘They are our players, and I would want to have them in pre-season, where we will determine what to do.’
‘It’s very much about them, how they integrate and what they do, and what our aspirations are for them and what they want to do.’
‘And it’s directly tied to our sanctions and the circumstances around the club, so it’s too early to forecast their future and role for the entire season, but they’ll definitely be back in pre-season.’
