Mikel Arteta has come under fire from Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for his leadership style at Arsenal.
Aubameyang asserts that Arteta is incapable of managing “big players.”
Following repeated conduct difficulties during Aubameyang’s final few months with Arsenal, Arteta relieved him of his captaincy and demoted him to the B squad.
Aubameyang’s contract with Arsenal was ultimately terminated in February, and the striker later joined Barcelona before joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Aubameyang responded in a video with A Jewellers when asked about the circumstances surrounding his departure from Arsenal: “I remember they [Barcelona] first called my father.
We were familiar with the coach, Xavi, when he called and said there was a chance because you were having issues with Arsenal, but if you came, you would really aid us.
“But he [Arteta] can’t handle managing huge characters or big players.
“He [Arteta] wants some young players because they listen without speaking.”
