Chelsea has long admired Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, and the Blues have been linked with the Senegalese international once again this summer.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Even when Chelsea made an approach for Koulibaly under Antonio Conte, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insisted on not selling the Senegalese.
With new speculations tying the 30-year-old to Chelsea, Napoli manager Luciano Spaletti is thought to be opposed to Koulibaly leaving the club.
According to reports, Spaletti has threatened to resign as Napoli manager if Koulibaly is sold.
Koulibaly is an important player for Napoli, and the club’s manager does not want to lose him.
The 63-year-old has told the club of his intention to leave if Koulibaly is moved against his will, according to Corriere dello Sport and Spanish publication Sport.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has stated that the defender cannot be forced to stay.
“He is a symbol of Napoli, and if he wants to stop being a symbol, he must decide,” he remarked.
“We have to make a decision.” We want Koulibaly to stay, but we can’t make anyone stay.
“Everyone has their own sense of self-worth and wants. Everyone is respected by us.”
Chelsea is yet to decide whether or not to make a bid for Kalidou Koulibaly, who is 30 years old.
Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former Chelsea winger, has questioned the club’s choice to trade Fikayo Tomori.
“Jules Kounde is a young and skilled defender who would be a fantastic addition for Chelsea.”
“However, Chelsea sold Fikayo Tomori, a guy of comparable age who I believe scarcely gave the ball away all season at AC Milan, and I just wonder why you would go out and get a player of similar age when you could just maintain the talent you’ve developed?”
“If Kounde joins Chelsea, he’ll have large shoes to fill following Antonio Rudiger’s departure.”
