Arsenal star David Seaman believes his former team will defeat Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday and will finish above Chelsea in the Premier League rankings. On Thursday, Arsenal travels to Tottenham Hotspur to play their north London rivals.
Mikel Arteta’s squad will guarantee Champions League qualifying for next season if they win. With two games left in the season, anything less than three points would widen the margin for Spurs.
Arsenal are only one point behind Chelsea in third place, and Thomas Tuchel’s team will play relegation-threatened Leeds on Wednesday. The Gunners have gone a long way from their season-opening three defeats.
Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, according to Seaman, it has much improved. He has, however, cautioned Chelsea that if they falter in their next few games, they may be overtaken.
“It’s been a fantastic season,” Seaman told Sky Sports News. Especially when you consider the beginning.
“For the first two weeks, we were last and Spurs were first, which was really difficult to accept.” But, depending on how the results go, we might not only be in the top four, but we could also catch Chelsea.
“We’ve finished ninth the previous two seasons. So far, this season has been a huge step forward.
“When you think about it, we may finish ahead of the competition.” City and Liverpool are well ahead of us, but we might yet finish third. It has the potential to be a terrific season.”
